Quick Makeup Tips for a Classy Look
No matter how experienced you are with applying makeup, there are always new things to learn to make the process go more smoothly and avoid any mishaps. To create the perfect wing design or cat eyes with eyeshadow, for instance, all you need is a simple trick. Learn the ins and outs of applying makeup like a pro without any help from anyone else by reading this comprehensive guide.
You should put on your foundation before your concealer.
Applying foundation before concealer is the quickest way to a more professional look. Think about it: if you start with a layer of foundation, you’re basically creating a smooth base for the rest of your products, which will help minimise any redness or discoloration. After that, you can use your concealer to spot treat any remaining zits or redness, and you’ll need to use a lot less of it.
Under lash extensions
It’s not a tattoo or a facelift, but under lash extensions will make a huge difference in your appearance. You will look noticeably more beautiful, feminine, and polished, whether or not you wear makeup.
Lip exfoliation before lipstick
Okay, so you know how sometimes lipstick doesn’t apply evenly? If your lips are dry and flaky, try using a lip scrub to remove the top layer of dead skin and prepare your lips to receive your lip product more effectively.
Make sure your skin is well hydrated.
Moisturize with a product designed for your specific skin type. When you moisturise first thing in the morning, your skin will stay supple and hydrated all day long. Moisturizers come in the form of gels, creams, and lotions.
Focus on the eyes
Makeup tutorials for the workplace should always include instructions on how to apply eye makeup. Although it is not required, if you choose to wear eye shadow to the office, try to stick to neutral colours like brown or bronze. Use kajal or eyeliner to emphasise your irises. Applying kajal to the lower lash line is a great way to draw attention to your eyes. Kajal, a gel pencil, or eyeliner are all great options for drawing attention to the upper eyelid.
Tame the Brows
Play up your brows if you only have ten minutes to get ready. Fluffy, full brows are in style right now, especially when worn with minimal makeup. Create hairlike strokes to fill in bare spots, and always seal the deal with brow gel to keep them arched and full.
Limit your coverage.
Stay away from heavy, full-coverage foundations if you want to achieve this look. Moisturizers, BB and CC creams, and skin tints with tints let some of your freckles, redness, and imperfections show through while still providing your skin with additional hydration. Liquid foundation or skin tint can be applied with a buffing foundation brush for fuller coverage or a sponge for a more natural look and feel.
Stay away from Peach Fuzz.
When applying foundation, always work downward. Foundation applied in an upward motion will highlight the fine facial hair that most of us have. You could go for a peachy appearance, but if you don’t want to draw attention to your peach fuzz, stick to a more subtle shade of pink.
Try not to forget the blush!
It’s easy to dismiss cheek colour as an afterthought, particularly if you focus primarily on highlighting your cheekbones. Makeup artists warn against skimping here, however, as a splash of vibrant blush will give you an instant, healthy-looking glow and keep you from looking washed out. Just remember to use it where it will look best on your face.
Highlight for sure
Classic tips include using highlighter or shimmery white eye shadow on your cupid’s bow, but I like to take it a step further by lining my entire top lip with Touche Éclat and carrying that line up into my cupid’s bow. After smudging the line with my finger, I decide whether or not to go in for a second pass with a nude lip liner. By bringing attention to the lip as a whole, the light is able to catch it in a way that makes the lip appear softer and more natural.
